SWA Horror Films

The three different films we viewed during class each had a unique way of creating a scary atmosphere for the viewers.  The first film "Nosferatu" had no talking at all just music playing in  the background to create fear coupled with scary looking creatures appearing in windows.  This film was mostly in the dark for the clip that we watched.  The second film was able to create terror in the  viewers eyes by having creepy voices and some intense gore scenes such as when the guy was killed by the father.  This film had way better technology than the first and was able to have voices and other special effects that were not available before.  Lastly the  third film "The Conjuring" was the newest of the films and it used special sound effects to build up suspense for most of the  scenes. Creepy music with crazy CGI monsters made this film as terrifying as it was.
Out of these three  films  I found that "The Conjuring" was the most scary of  the films because of  the great special effects  and  music available  at this  day and age.  The other films because of their lack of effects were less terrifying to me and since i did not  live back in the 1920's i don't know if that would of been scary to me back then either.  I find that peoples voices and sound makes a movie much more creepy than if there is none because a lot of times that is what makes you jump in  the theaters.
